Gospa Citrus is a value-led, family-run citrus farm based in Mairena del Alcor, Seville. Since the early 19th century, generation after generation has worked the land with care and intention, aiming to pass down healthy, living soil to their children and grandchildren- with love at the heart of it all. What makes Gospa’s soil so special is its ability to bring natural sweetness to typically bitter fruits, a characteristic unique to this land.
From October to June, Gospa produces 25 different varieties of citrus, including grapefruit, lemons, mandarins, sweet oranges, and most importantly, Seville oranges. Seville oranges are prized for their high pectin content, making them the perfect ingredient for traditional marmalade. Unlike other types of preserves, marmalade uses the entire fruit, making it essential to use organic produce free from chemical contamination.
At Gospa, organic farming is a core value and a commitment to the future. The family believes that by caring for the land today, they’re securing a healthier, more sustainable tomorrow for their children and for the planet.
This farm is now in its third generation and beyond, with each generation deeply committed to the citrus-growing tradition. Gospa Citrus represents more than just fruit; it’s about heritage, integrity, and environmental responsibility. Their fruit carries the taste of sunshine, soil, and centuries of dedication- all carefully harvested and shared with the world.
